Biopharmaceutical Manufacturing Firm
Client Challenge
Our client is an emerging biopharmaceutical organization that develops, manufactures and packages early to late phase protein therapeutics for various biopharmaceutical companies across the U.S.
Faced with a growing need for qualified staff, the client faced dual issues of attracting and retaining permanent employees. They were beset by a lack of biopharmaceuticals in the immediate area, not to mention a dramatic talent shortage in the sector overall. Company policy also discouraged relocation of talent, and they were unable to direct source into key competitors due to non-competes.
The client was specifically interested in scientists and engineers with an expertise in the areas of protein therapeutic development and GMP manufacturing. They also had a particular interest in finding candidates with a background in chemical engineering.
Our Solution
Working closely with the client’s Human Resources department and line managers, we helped persuade the company to approve relocation assistance for candidates, immediately improving the ability to woo top talent. We also focused our attention on soliciting and screening new job seekers, while also direct sourcing pharmaceutical and biotech firms in the local area.
The Results
By developing a strong relationship with HR and all line managers, System One has been able to assist the company with increasing their head count by roughly 30%. The client was pleased with the results and we continue to assist them with their future growth plans, which include a $9 million expansion plan that opened earlier this year.
